WTC7

 Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well.
I am looking forward to seeing you all next week at our meeting.
The agenda can be found here: Click here for the Agenda
One of my tasks was to look at the Tasar Constitution. When looking through it and comparing it to other classes, I found that it was well out of date.
I have therefore made a draft version of a new Constitution for the Tasar class. The file can be found here: Potential Changes to the Tasar Constitution.docx
The document is firstly a potential constitution, and then some of the points from the old constitution and the replacement parts.
There are some major changes. These are:
  • A new voting method using our conversations over the past few meetings
  • Use of terms International Class Association and National Class Association (in line with World Sailing regulations)
  • Removal of the term Districts, Regions, etc. These are not recognised by World Sailing and are out of date. If a National Association wants to have different elements to it, this should be written into their constitution.
  • Removal of redundant parts
  • Changes to meeting structures
  • Updated terminology to meet World Sailing Standards.
This constitution has been produced using the Musto Skiff and RS Aero constitutions, which are based off the World Sailing standard.

I look forward to discussing this next week.
Thanks,
Pete
