Hello WTC
As a heads up, the Organising Committee for the 2024 Tasar Worlds in Victoria, Australia (after Seattle) will be announcing the event shortly including dates of both the world championship as well as the preceding Australian national championship. This in no way takes the light off the forthcoming worlds in Seattle, but given there is a shorter than normal timeframe between world championship events – the Committee feels it is prudent to commence their communication plan early. Please see attached release.
We will also have a contingent at the forthcoming worlds in Seattle to promote the event as would normally occur.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Cheers

ATC President
Melbourne set to host the 2024 Tasar World Championships
MELBOURNE, Victoria - Sandringham Yacht Club will host the 2024 Tasar World Championships in Melbourne, Australia. This hugely popular and highly competitive class will be taking to the waters of Port Philip Bay from the 29ththrough to the 31st of December 2023 for the Australian National Championships and will follow this up with the main event - their World Championship from the 4th to the 9th of January 2024.
Port Philip Bay offers an incredible expense of water for large fleet dinghy sailing and Sandringham Yacht Club has extensive experience in managing world titles and international sailing competitions.
“We are expecting a strong participation for this event” says Blaise Vinot, the Tasar Association of Victoria President and can already see a lot of interest from Australian sailors who are eager to compete in a World title. We are looking forward to over a 100 boat taking part with a great atmosphere of camaraderie that is typical of the class”.
Sandringham Yacht Club is an ideal partner for an International competition, with top class facilities, perfect viewing of the racing area and a wealth of experience in race management. Some sailors remember the 1998 World titles held at the Club and we have no doubt that this event will be even more memorable.
The Tasar is a 4.5 m high performance sailing dinghy which is light weight, low drag, planing hull, a rotating mast, and a jib and fully battened mainsail with efficient sail controls providing exhilarating sailing without the need for spinnaker or trapeze.
